Meet Melissa
Hello!
Welcome! My name is Melissa and I am the owner, and creative force that drives Stylish Blooms. I grew up in, Oswego NY, on a small farm. I moved to Connecticut in 2003 to a local flower shop. Being a farmers daughter taught me hard work and dedication from a young age.
My interest in floral design started when I was 15. I instantly fell in love with floral design and I couldn't get enough, I never thought It would be my career 25 years later. I made it a priority to learn all that I could about design, color and flower care. In 2000, I obtained my A.A.S degree in Floriculture and Business management from SUNY Morrisville.
Throughout the years I have worked in various flower shops in, NY & CT, learning all that I could and soaking in the floral industry. In 2008, I launched Stylish Blooms and have loved every minute. I love exploring new techniques and sharpening my design skills so that I can continue to provide only the best to my clients. I love a challenge and starting trends, no request is too big or too small.
My husband helps with the everyday and I have 3 young daughters who help as well. I hope one day, one of them will work alongside me when they are older.

My Inspiration
The seed for Stylish Blooms was planted many years ago. From the moment I started designing, I dreamed of owning my own flower shop. After many years of watching the floral industry change, I shifted my focus from opening a small flower shop to opening a floral studio that focused on specialty designs.
I wanted the opportunity to work closely with each of my clients and have the ability to focus my time and attention on their individual needs. I launched Stylish Blooms in 2008, with the ultimate goal of giving those planning a wedding or special event in New England a truly unique floral experience.
From the first consultation to the day of the event, I am always available to answer questions and to tend to every little detail. My number one goal has always been to make sure the flowers and decor provided by Stylish Blooms exceeds even the highest of expectations.
